Stay well this winter
Influenza (the flu) and COVID-19 circulate all year round, but winter is particularly bad for the spread of illness. You can help yourself stay well by:
- getting your flu and COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible
- keeping 1.5 metre distance between yourself and other people
- washing or sanitising your hands often
- coughing or sneezing into your elbow
- testing for COVID or influenza if you are feeling unwell
- wearing a face mask if you have symptoms
- ensuring there is good ventilation
- staying home if you are sick.
For further info see Health Victoria here.
If you have symptoms and test positive for COVID-19, the current health recommendation is to stay home and isolate for at least 5 days and until your symptoms are under control.
Wear a face mask when you leave home for at least 7 days after testing positive as you may still be infectious.
Taking care of your physical and mental health will help you to achieve academic success, make the most of your learning opportunities and enjoy a positive student experience.
